While the plaza is ready for public enjoyment, some finishing touches are still underway. Two food and drink kiosks are set to be installed, adding to the area’s appeal. These will be delivered soon, with necessary utility connections and fit-outs to follow.
Accessibility and Safety
From Thursday, the site will be accessible from Taff Street, with an additional entry point near the park footbridge. While some areas will be temporarily cordoned off for safety during ongoing works, the space remains open for public use.
Investment and Regeneration
This project is part of a broader £5.6 million investment in Pontypridd, supported by the Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns Programme and the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund. It includes flood alleviation improvements, sustainable drainage solutions, and enhanced lighting and resurfacing for the lane leading to Ynysangharad Park.
